XPENG used the 2026 Paris Motor Show to debut the G9L, its next-generation AI flagship SUV, and announced the vehicle's global launch as the company expands its footprint in Europe and beyond.
XPENG presence at the Paris Motor Show
Guangzhou Xiaopeng Motors Technology, known as XPENG, exhibited at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles during the Mondial de l'Auto from October 12 through 18, 2026. XPENG, founded in 2014 and publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, said the G9L global launch represents "another milestone in the company's expansion in Europe." The company has offices in Mountain View, California, and Munich, Germany, and cites a product lineup that includes the L03, P7+, G6, G9, and X9. XPENG also said it will introduce the G9L to regions such as Australia and New Zealand but did not provide launch timing, pricing, or regional specifications.

The brand's Paris stand was presented as an immersive "Physical AI Museum" organized into four areas that showcase the company’s technology stack, AI-defined vehicles, humanoid robots, and flying cars:

G9L powertrains, range and performance
XPENG introduced the G9L in two main configurations: a range-extender electric vehicle (REEV) and a pure-electric variant. The REEV uses a large 63 kWh LFP battery pack and the company states an electric-only range of up to 287 km WLTP (178 miles). With the range-extender system engaged, XPENG claims a combined range of up to 1,200 km WLTP (746 miles). As with other REEVs or EREVs, the G9L is driven by its electric motors under all conditions. The REEV package is rated at a combined output of 430 kW (577 hp) and 695 Nm (513 lb-ft) of torque.

XPENG says the G9L REEV employs 24 energy-flow optimization strategies and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 5.4 seconds. A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine functions as the range extender, operating in the background; XPENG targets a difference of less than one dB between Super Electric REEV operation and pure-electric operation under test conditions.

The regular EV model shares the same 430 kW (577 hp) and 695 Nm (513 lb-ft) output but omits the 1.5-liter turbo. It uses a larger 110 kWh battery pack rated for up to 553 km WLTP (344 miles). XPENG also announced a DC fast-charging capability of up to 540 kW for the EV version, stating a 10-80% recharge time of less than 12 minutes at a compatible ultra-fast charging station.

Intelligent driving and software architecture
On the European specification G9L, XPENG will offer NGP - Next Generation Pilot - its next-generation intelligent driving system. NGP is powered by a second-generation VLA model (VLA 2.0) and a high-computing-power AI architecture. XPENG says VLA 2.0 provides city and highway assisted driving, navigation-based assisted driving, and additional assisted functions. The company intends to roll out NGP in 2027.
The G9L also introduces XPENG’s Kunpeng Super Electric REEV technology, which the company describes as combining a large battery, fast charging, efficient EV drive, and intelligent energy management.
