Samsung reports combined sales of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in Europe rose 45% in the nine weeks after the pair went on sale, but the company did not disclose sales by model.
Sales figures and comparison
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra together recorded a 45% increase in sales across Europe in the nine weeks since they went on sale on August 7, compared with Z Fold7 sales in the equivalent weeks of 2025. In September Samsung had said combined sales were 50% higher, a figure the company presented as "almost 50%"; the updated nine-week figure is slightly lower.
- On-sale date: August 7
- Reported sales increase: 45% over nine weeks
- Comparison baseline: Z Fold7 sales in the equivalent weeks of 2025

Samsung did not break down sales by model, so it is unclear whether either the Fold8 or the Fold8 Ultra individually outperformed the Fold7.
Search trends and the Apple timing
Samsung said the sales increase was driven by "exceptional demand" and pointed to Google search trends as supporting evidence. Across 32 European markets, searches for Samsung foldables rose by more than 260% in September compared with August, with the largest single-week jump—460%—occurring in the week of September 6 to 12 compared with the prior week.
That week coincided with Apple's unveiling of its first foldable, the iPhone Duo. Samsung said Apple's device, which goes on sale tomorrow, appears to have increased public interest in foldable phones overall.
