Suzuki has revived a V-Twin for 2027, introducing the SV-7S at EICMA in Italy powered by a 645 cc liquid-cooled V-Twin and equipped with a modern electronics suite.
Powertrain and electronics
The SV-7S is driven by a 645 cc liquid-cooled V-Twin that Suzuki rates at 72 hp at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm (47 lb-ft) of torque at 6,800 rpm. The six-speed transmission gains a bi-directional Quick Shift System for clutch-less upshifts and downshifts. Suzuki fits the model with its Intelligent Ride System, S.I.R.S., which the manufacturer lists as including a Drive Mode Selector, three-mode traction control plus an off setting, ride-by-wire electronic throttle control, ABS, an Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist. These features are presented as factory equipment and reflect Suzuki's attempt to modernize the SV line without altering the core V-Twin concept.

Chassis, ergonomics and equipment
Suzuki has clad the SV-7S with cast-aluminum 10-spoke wheels shod in Dunlop ROADSMART III sport-touring tires. The bike adopts a wider, tapered aluminum handlebar positioned closer to the rider than on the SV650, suggesting a more comfortable, less tucked riding position. The muffler appears similar in styling to Suzuki's earlier models, including the 2016 SV, although Suzuki has not presented detailed continuity claims. The instrument panel is a 4.2-inch full-color TFT LCD with SUZUKI RIDE CONNECT+ smartphone integration for navigation and alerts; some riders may still miss an analog tachometer.

Suzuki's choice of name has raised eyebrows because historically the S suffix denoted a faired model while the N indicated a naked bike; the new SV-7S uses a 645 cc V-Twin, a naming pattern observers call inconsistent and that follows similar quirks seen on recent models including the GSX-8S/R and the SV-7GX. The new SV-7S is reported to be slightly heavier than its predecessors, an expected trade-off for added equipment and safety features.

Color options announced for the SV-7S are Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue No.4, Glass Sparkle Black, and a two-tone Glass Sparkle Black with Mat Sword Silver. Suzuki has not offered a yellow finish for this model. Suzuki has not published final pricing; a near-term expectation from the event coverage places the launch price slightly below $8,000 at introduction next summer, which is an editorial estimate rather than an official figure.

The SV-7S was shown at EICMA in Italy as part of Suzuki's 2027 model lineup. The presentation emphasizes a blend of a familiar V-Twin character with contemporary rider aids and connectivity, while leaving some questions open about exact curb weights, markets and final pricing.
