Nissan brought three purpose-built off-road concepts to the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, presenting modified versions of the Frontier pickup, Pathfinder three-row SUV and Armada full-size SUV as part of what the company described as an unstoppable 'commitment to extreme adventure and off-road thrills.' The prototypes join a wider Nissan display that also includes street-focused builds such as the Sentra Spec V 300-hp concept and two Z variants, the Nissan Project NAT2 SCCA Touring 2 and the Datsun S30 Concept.
Alongside the SEMA reveal Nissan confirmed other recent and upcoming U.S. activities: its Formula E Team will contest Season 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with drivers Oliver Rowland and Zane Maloney, Sam Bird as reserve and development driver, and Abbi Pulling as rookie and simulator driver for 2026/27. Nissan also noted fleet updates for the American market, including a 2027 Pathfinder Special Edition to mark 40 years of the model that reaches dealerships this month with a starting MSRP of $47,390 for FWD or $49,390 with Intelligent AWD, and that the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid has gone on sale in the U.S. with the all-wheel-drive SR carrying the SR Technology Package grade; the Rogue Hybrid makes a public debut at the 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show, Nov. 20-29.

Three concept transformations
The Frontier Ronin Concept is described as an 'unstoppable off-road truck' built around a twin-turbocharged version of Frontier's 3.8-liter V6. Suspension hardware borrowed from Nissan's larger Titan is used to widen the truck's track by 12 inches and lift it by more than four inches, creating room for 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires mounted on prototype 17-inch Nismo Ascend beadlock wheels. Beadlock wheels mechanically clamp the tire bead to the rim so tires can be run at lower pressures for off-road traction without the bead separating. Nismo Off-Road accessories fitted to the Ronin Concept include rock sliders, auxiliary driving lights, a spare-tire carrier, a custom big-brake kit, sport bucket seats, additional engine gauges to monitor the twin-turbo powertrain, and custom seat belts with topographic map-inspired detailing in the cabin.
The Pathfinder XE-V6 Concept commemorates the model line's 40th anniversary with styling cues that reference the original WD21 Pathfinder, revived 'XE-V6' badging and a red exterior trimmed with black, charcoal and silver stripes. The build adds a four-inch suspension lift, Yokohama Geolandar off-road tires on 18-inch prototype Nismo wheels, bespoke high-clearance off-road bumpers and a roof rack, plus a rear-mounted swing-out tire carrier and a variety of additional accessories to increase ground clearance and load-carrying capability for trail use.

The Armada Jungle Patrol Concept is an expedition-style conversion that emphasizes overland utility and a safari-like interior layout. It features an open-roof arrangement reinforced by a tubular roll cage and inward-facing rear seats, and rides on 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar tires with custom long-travel suspension components. The concept also incorporates steel bumpers, widened fender flares and Nismo Off-Road lighting to support off-highway operations and prolonged expeditions.
All three concepts were displayed at Nissan's booth, #21521, in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the SEMA Show, Nov. 3-6, 2026.
