Hennessey Performance has rolled out a dramatic limited-edition VelociRaptor 1200 based on the Ford F-250 Lariat, celebrating America's 250th anniversary with a 250-unit run. Unlike many of Hennessey's headline-grabbing builds, the "1200" badge here doesn't advertise peak horsepower — it refers to the astonishing 1,200 lb-ft (about 1,626 Nm) of torque available from Ford's 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke turbodiesel.
What’s under the hood?
Surprisingly, Hennessey left the factory diesel powerplant largely intact. The stock twin-turbo 6.7L still delivers roughly 500 hp and the factory torque figure, but Hennessey’s focus for this commemorative model is capability, presence and off-road readiness rather than chasing extra peak horsepower. For many buyers, that mass of low-end torque is more valuable than more top-end power — especially in a heavy-duty pickup designed for towing and off-road use.
Chassis, suspension and off-road upgrades
To transform the F-250 into a true off-road beast, Hennessey fitted a BDS suspension lift that raises ride height by about 13 cm (roughly 5 inches). Inside, the cabin receives a performance-oriented refresh: black leather and Alcantara seats with contrast red stitching, plus a numbered plaque finished with an American-flag motif to certify each limited unit. The build targets collectors and off-road enthusiasts who want a factory-backed, limited-run pickup with standout styling.
Price, warranty and market positioning
The full VelociRaptor 1200 package costs $54,500. Combined with the F-250 Lariat base price of $63,035, the total comes to $117,535. Hennessey backs the package with a 3-year warranty or 58,000 km (about 36,000 miles), providing buyers confidence in this high-profile upgrade.
