What happens when ultra-slim design meets serious on-device AI muscle? HP's latest machines answer that question with a mix of ambition and restraint: thin profiles that hide heavy-duty compute, built around Nvidia's new RTX Spark platform.
The flagship, OmniBook Ultra 16, is aimed squarely at creators, developers building AI tools, and power users who refuse to hand every task to the cloud. It claims up to one petaflop of AI performance and can be configured with as much as 128GB of RAM — numbers that used to belong to desktops and workstations, not svelte laptops.
HP backed that horsepower with a visual package fit for creative work: a 16-inch 3K OLED panel certified VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000, and a quad-speaker setup driven by smart amplification. Cooling and chassis engineering were clearly priorities too; the Ultra 16 measures about 15.73 millimeters and uses an optimized thermal layout to keep sustained workloads in check. Battery life is rated up to 17 hours, with fast charging that reaches roughly 50 percent in 30 minutes.

For people who prioritize portability, the OmniBook X 14 trims the dimensions to just 13.53 millimeters while preserving an OLED display and an advanced thermal architecture. It targets travelers and hybrid workers who need credible local AI acceleration without lugging a thick workstation. HP rates the X 14 at around 15 hours of battery life and supports fast charging through a 140W USB-C adapter.
These notebooks sit alongside a more focused desktop entry, the OmniDesk. Compact but purpose-built, it is intended for long-running compute tasks and for hosting AI agents that continue operating in the background — think persistent assistants, training or inference jobs that must run even when the user steps away.

Put simply: HP is trying to make on-device AI practical without forcing a trade-off between thinness and capability.
Details on configurations and exact pricing will emerge closer to launch. HP says the OmniBook Ultra 16, OmniBook X 14, and the OmniDesk will arrive this fall through HP's online store and authorized retailers. If local AI workflows are in your roadmap, these models are worth watching as manufacturers blur the line between ultraportable hardware and workstation-grade AI performance.
