Whale movement pushes 1.6 billion XRP into Binance
Over the past 30 days, whale wallets have transferred approximately 1.669 billion XRP to Binance — the largest inflow of Ripple tokens to the exchange in seven months. These cumulative deposits come as XRP trades near $1.31, although there is no definitive evidence that the tokens were sold on the spot market.
CryptoQuant data and estimated value
On-chain analyst Arab Chain at CryptoQuant reports the 30-day rolling sum of whale deposits has surpassed the previous September peak of about 1.65 billion XRP. Using a reference price of $1.33, the value of this transfer volume is roughly $2.22 billion. CryptoQuant’s metric aggregates inflows from large wallets to Binance over a 30-day window, which represents total deposits during that period — not necessarily tokens sold or retained on the exchange.
What this means for market liquidity and price pressure
Heightened deposits to centralized exchanges like Binance can increase XRP available for immediate trading and, if sold into the spot market, could exert downward pressure on price and liquidity. However, whales often move assets for multiple reasons beyond imminent liquidation, including collateral management for derivatives, portfolio rebalancing, or custody consolidation.
Exchange balances and short-term dynamics
On-chain records show that combined balances of monitored exchange wallets rose by roughly 83.94 million XRP between October 12 and October 15, bringing total exchange inventory to about 22.06 billion XRP. Binance accounted for approximately 54.61 million XRP of that near-term increase. Note that gross deposit statistics do not equal net supply change, as withdrawals can offset inflows.
Traders and institutional investors should track whale transfer activity, exchange reserves, and on-chain metrics closely. These indicators provide early signals for liquidity shifts and potential volatility in XRP and the broader crypto markets.
