HP has launched the Star Book Air 14 in China, a 14-inch OLED touchscreen laptop notable for its 1.16 kg weight and 11.77 mm aluminum alloy body; reservations are open on JD from 5,299 yuan (about $740). The listing appeared Oct 25, 2026 and is credited to Rajesh Regmi.
Design and display
The chassis is aluminum alloy, 11.77 mm thick, and weighs 1.16 kg. The lid carries HP's slash logo and the hinge opens to 180 degrees so the screen can lie flat. HP offers four color options:
- starry blue
- ash silver
- peony pink
- cantaloupe green
The 14-inch OLED panel has a 1920 by 1200 resolution and supports 10-point touch input. HP says the display carries TÜV hardware low blue light and HP Eye Ease certifications, which the company describes as intended to reduce eye strain during extended use.

Performance and battery
HP equips the Star Book Air 14 with an Intel Core 5 320 processor, 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. HP identifies the chip as part of Intel's Wildcat Lake family; the Core 5 320 has also appeared in other recent models, including a version of Lenovo's IdeaPad Slim 5i and in a Geekbench listing for the REDMI Book 16 2027 paired with 16 GB of RAM.
The laptop uses a 60 Wh battery that HP rates for up to 42.5 hours of runtime. That figure is HP's claim and actual battery life will vary with workload and settings.

I/O, camera, audio and availability
Connectivity includes two full-featured USB-C ports and one HDMI 2.1 output. For video calls and biometric login, the machine has a full-HD IR camera with dual microphones and supports Windows Hello face recognition. HP says the speaker system was tuned by Poly and carries DTS:X Ultra certification.
HP's JD listing for the Star Book Air 14 starts at 5,299 yuan (about $740) and reservations are open in China. Outside China, HP sells the same model as the OmniBook 5 14 for $699.99, so the China price works out to be roughly $40 higher at current exchange rates.
