Samsung will unveil the W27, a China-exclusive luxury foldable, on October 29, according to a well-known tipster. A leaked photo shows a new dark blue design with gold accents, and the device appears to share its specifications with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Leaked image and design details
The leaked photograph shows the W27's rear panel in dark blue with gold trim on the frame and camera island and the W series' gold seal logo near the bottom. The triple camera array and pill-shaped camera island match the Fold8 Ultra, supporting the claim that the two phones are mechanically identical.
How Samsung's W series differs in China
The W series is an annual, China-exclusive variant of Samsung's current Fold that is typically sold through China Telecom. These models usually feature more premium finishes, often black and gold, higher RAM allocations than global models, and expanded retail packages with additional accessories and extras.

Expected hardware and what we know about pricing
Because the W27 is reportedly the Fold8 Ultra underneath, it is expected to include the same key components and features the Fold8 Ultra offers. Those specifications, which were tested in our Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra review, include:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- Approximately an 8-inch foldable main display and a 6.5-inch cover display with 120Hz refresh rate
- 200MP main camera
- 5,000 mAh battery
The Fold8 Ultra is already available in a 16GB RAM/1TB storage configuration. Last year’s W26, based on the Galaxy Z Fold7, shipped in 512GB and 1TB versions that both included 16GB RAM, and it added satellite calling and messaging via China’s Tiantong system. The W26 was offered in red and black finishes with gold accents, with launch prices starting at CNY 16,999 (about $2,390) and the 1TB model at CNY 18,999 (about $2,670).
Judging by Samsung’s past practice, the W27 will likely ship with 16GB of RAM as standard, but the device’s Chinese retail price has not been confirmed. The company or local carriers should disclose pricing and availability with the October 29 unveiling, roughly one week from the leak.
