Geely EX2 Hits One Million Global Sales in Two Years

Geely's EX2, marketed as the E2 in some territories, surpassed one million cumulative global sales in October 2026, two years after its October 2024 launch. The milestone reflects an unusually rapid sales pace for a subcompact electric hatchback.

The one millionth EX2 was recorded in October 2026, a month in which Geely sold 71,337 units. The model reached 10,000 sales within 16 days of launch, passed 200,000 deliveries after just over 200 days, and logged its 600,000th sale on the 536th day. Geely moved 465,775 EX2s in 2025, making it the best-selling passenger car in China across all segments and the world's top seller in both the A and B segments. The launch-to-million timetable equates to roughly one sale every minute over the two-year period.

Market rollout and positioning

Geely Automobile Holdings Limited of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, has introduced the rear-drive EX2 in more than 30 markets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, and Latin America. The vehicle is not offered in the United States. Geely attributes the model's broad appeal to a combination of competitive pricing, equipment, and warranty coverage alongside packaging tailored to urban and subcompact buyers.

Specifications, warranty, pricing and charging

The EX2 is furnished with a multi-link rear suspension and offers a 70-liter front trunk and flexible rear cargo arrangements. Key technical and commercial details include:

• Battery options: 35.35 kWh (WLTP 252 kilometers / 157 miles) and 47.14 kWh (WLTP 345 kilometers / 214 miles).
• Fast charging: 30 to 80 percent in about 25 minutes (manufacturer figure).
• Battery and vehicle warranty: eight years or 200,000 kilometers (124,274 miles), with a minimum 70 percent retained battery capacity over the warranty term.
• Front trunk capacity: 70 liters (2.5 cubic feet).

Retail pricing in Germany starts at 19,990 euros, with advertised finance and leasing examples at 90 euros per month and 99 euros per month respectively. Geely has positioned the EX2 as a more fully equipped alternative to smaller city EVs while keeping entry-level pricing competitive.

Geely and the EX2 now face a market where Chinese rivals continue to introduce increasingly competitive small electric vehicles worldwide, testing whether the next million sales will arrive at a similar pace.
