Nikon Enters Cinema with the ZR
Nikon has launched its first dedicated cinema camera, the ZR, initiating the new Z Cinema lineup. The ZR claims up to 7.5 stops of image stabilization and benefits from the short 16mm flange distance of the Z mount, enabling wide use of native NIKKOR Z and adapted lenses. Autofocus draws on EXPEED 7 and AI-driven subject detection for people, animals and vehicles, with tracking resilient enough to follow faces as small as ~3% of the frame. AF behavior can be tuned for speed and sensitivity to suit different shooting styles.

The fanless magnesium alloy body is dust- and drip-resistant and designed for long takes with continuous recording up to 125 minutes. At roughly 1.19 lb, the chassis is exceptionally portable. USB Power Delivery supports extended runs for events, interviews and remote shoots.
