MediaTek sets Dimensity 9500 unveiling for September 22
MediaTek has officially announced a launch event for its next flagship mobile SoC: the Dimensity 9500. The company’s Weibo post pins the reveal to September 22 at 14:00 local time. The new chip is expected to appear first in premium handsets from Vivo and Oppo, ahead of wider adoption across the Android ecosystem.

The Dimensity 9500 uses a 1+3+4 CPU layout, combining a single high-frequency Travis core at around 4.21GHz, three Alto cores at roughly 3.50GHz, and four Gelas efficiency cores at about 2.7GHz. Travis and Alto are part of Arm’s latest X9 family, while Gelas derives from an updated A7 lineage—bringing a balance of peak performance and energy efficiency ideal for demanding mobile workflows.
