Xiaomi 17 lineup could arrive at end of September
A new report and a company tease have reignited anticipation for Xiaomi's next flagship family. Xiaomi president Lu Weibing said he will host a livestream at 7 PM CST to answer questions about the new series — including why the company skipped the Xiaomi 16 name — and an industry source suggests the Xiaomi 17 series could debut in China as early as September 30. Early Geekbench figures show around 3,096 single-core and 9,382 multi-core scores, suggesting strong day-to-day responsiveness and gaming capability. Devices are expected to ship with up to 16 GB of RAM and Xiaomi's HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16.
Design and the return of the rear display
Xiaomi confirmed a redesigned rear display for the Pro models, branded the Magic Back Screen. The rectangular strip replaces a traditional camera island and surrounds the lenses with a secondary display that can show custom clock faces, avatars, and GIFs. Use cases include:
