One UI 8.0 is out for these Galaxy smartphones and tablets
On September 15, Samsung began the much-anticipated rollout of One UI 8 (Android 16). The update arrived sooner than usual for some users — coming only about five months after One UI 7 for several devices.
The stable release follows months of beta testing on the Galaxy S25 series and a shorter beta cycle for select models such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy A55. Many other eligible Galaxy phones and tablets will skip the public beta and update straight from One UI 7 to One UI 8.
One UI 8.0 update is out for these Galaxy devices
So, is your Galaxy device already receiving the update or will you need to wait a bit longer? The following devices are confirmed to have started receiving the One UI 8.0 stable update:
- Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra
- Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra
- Galaxy S24 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
- Galaxy A56
Keep in mind that Samsung deploys major updates in phases. When a rollout begins, it typically launches in a few regions first before expanding globally. For example, the One UI 8 release for the Galaxy S25 family started in Korea and reached other markets a couple of days later.

If you want to check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Availability may vary by carrier and region, so patience may be required.
