Lexus has opened U.S. order books for the 2027 GX 550, confirming the third-generation model carries over with only minor updates while prices climb across the lineup. The announcement arrives with full trim pricing, specification details, and the same 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 and 10-speed automatic that powered the model last year.
For the 2027 model year Lexus lists the GX 550 Premium at $69,085, Premium+ at $73,400, Luxury at $81,600 and Luxury+ at $85,600. The off-road focused Overtrail is priced from $76,730 and the Overtrail+ from $85,010. All prices include the $1,550 delivery, processing, and handling fee.

Those figures mark increases over the 2026 MY lineup, which started at $66,935 for the Premium, $71,400 for the Premium+, $79,400 for the Luxury, $83,400 for the Luxury+, $74,580 for the Overtrail and $82,025 for the Overtrail+. Lexus says the 2027 updates are modest, adding items such as ventilated rear outboard seats on certain Luxury and Overtrail+ grades rather than broad mechanical changes.
Trim content and mechanicals
The Premium retains seven-seat configuration and carries features including front heated and ventilated seats, NuLuxe upholstery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a 12.3-inch multi-information display, a 120-volt power outlet, six USB-C ports, a 10-speaker audio system, ambient lighting and memory settings for driver seat, steering wheel and mirrors. Exterior equipment cited for the Premium includes triple-beam LED headlights, power-folding mirrors, running boards, power tailgate with pop-out window, moonroof, tow hitch, 20-inch wheels and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 along with wireless smartphone integration.

The Premium+ adds heated second-row outboard seats, a power-folding third row, heated steering wheel, thematic ambient illumination, wireless charging pad, LED fog lamps and a kick sensor for the power rear door.
The Luxury brings ventilated second-row outboard seats, semi-aniline leather upholstery, front massaging seats, illuminated door sills, second-row manual sunshades, puddle lamps and 22-inch wheels. Luxury+ adds a cool box, a Mark Levinson premium sound system, automatic power-extending running boards and an adaptive variable suspension.

The Overtrail models change the configuration to five seats and a more rugged specification: NuLuxe upholstery, four additional USB-C ports, prewired auxiliary switches, onboard air compressor, windshield wiper de-icer, black utility roof rails, headlamp washers, a 1-inch (25 mm) lift kit, 18-inch alloys with 33-inch all-terrain tires, electronic kinetic dynamic suspension, crawl control, downhill assist control and multi-terrain select. Overtrail+ combines many of those rugged items with ventilated second-row outboard seats, front massaging seats, illuminated door sills and the power rear door with kick sensor.
The powertrain is unchanged. Lexus retains the 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 mated to a 10-speed automatic. Output is listed at 349 hp (354 ps/260 kW) from 4,800 to 5,200 rpm and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque between 2,000 and 3,600 rpm. Manufacturer fuel-consumption estimates are 17 mpg (13.8 l/100 km) combined, 21 mpg (11.2 l/100 km) highway and 15 mpg (15.7 l/100 km) city. Lexus rates 0 to 60 mph at 6.5 seconds across trims and a top speed of 109 mph (175 kph).

Off-road geometry varies by trim. Approach and departure angles are listed as 26 degrees and 23 degrees on the Premium; the Luxury records a 21-degree departure angle; the Overtrail shows a 22-degree departure angle. Breakover angles are 23 degrees for the Premium and Luxury and 24 degrees for the Overtrail.
The current GX rides on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform. Lexus notes the third-generation GX was revealed in mid-2023 and entered assembly late that year, and the company does not intend a mid-cycle refresh for now; a first major update has been speculated for around 2027 or 2028 but nothing has been confirmed.
