Liberty Walk Widebody Transforms Ferrari 458 Italia

A Liberty Walk-tuned Ferrari 458 Italia recently appeared on social media, showing a bolt-on widebody conversion, new wheels and an adjustable suspension while retaining its original naturally aspirated V8. Widebody conversion and exterior details

The conversion centers on bolt-on front fender flares and rear three-quarter extensions that give the 458 a broader, more muscular stance. New side skirts complement the flares, and the front bumper carries a discreet splitter while the hood and door mirror casings appear to be original equipment. Instead of a large rear wing, the tuner fitted a ducktail-style spoiler that echoes Bosozoku-influenced Japanese tuning rather than a track-oriented aero package. The car's exterior appears dark gray in the images posted to Instagram by libertywalkkato.

Wheels, suspension and stance

The car rides on black five double-spoke aftermarket wheels wrapped in new sticky tires. Liberty Walk has also fitted an adjustable air suspension; at its lowest setting the ride height is extremely low, emphasizing the car's track-ready look but making commonplace obstacles like a leaf noticeably problematic. Liberty Walk's scope typically includes bodywork, suspension and wheels, and the visible cabin in posted photos appears to be unmodified.

Engine, performance figures and lineage

The 458 retained its factory 4.5-liter V8, naturally aspirated and quoted at 562 bhp (419 kW/570 ps) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque. Maximum power is reached at 9,000 rpm and peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The model's published figures include a dry weight of 3,042 lbs (1,380 kg), a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph (325 kph); the 458 Spider is listed with a 199 mph (320 kph) top speed and the same 0-62 mph time.

Developed in the 2000s, the 458 was produced from 2009 to 2015 and served as the basis for limited editions including the 458 MM Speciale, the Pininfarina Sergio and the SP12 EC. It was replaced by the twin-turbocharged 488, assembled between 2015 and 2020; the F8 followed from 2019 to 2023. Ferrari's current rear mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive models include the 296 GTB and GTS, which use partial electrification.
