Artist Renders Base 2027 Audi Q7 With Manual Gear Option

Nikita Chuicko, the digital artist known online as kelsonik, has posted CGI renders imagining a stripped-down base version of the new 2027 Audi Q7. The proposal pares the flagship SUV back to basics: steel wheels, a six-speed manual transmission, cloth seats, wood trim in a traditional shade, and physical climate controls instead of some of the full digital interfaces found on higher trims.

Audi revealed the third-generation Q7, designated Typ G8, during the first month of the 2026 summer season. The SUV rides on Audi's new PPC platform, and in contrast to rival strategies it keeps a conventional luxury layout rather than radically reconfiguring packaging. Outside, the Q7 adopts a more muscular stance and split headlights while remaining clearly a Q7, and inside it shares the three-screen setup introduced across the lineup and in the larger Q9. Powertrain choices include a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 429 hp, an SQ7 with a 4.0-liter V8 at 591 hp, and in markets such as Australia a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel.

US pricing for the 2027 Q7 opened at about $71,000, with the SQ7 starting at nearly $99,000. That is a step up from 2026 entry prices of roughly $62,000 and $94,000 respectively, a gap that inspired kelsonik's exercise in imagining a more affordable, no-frills Q7.

A simplified Q7, outside and in

The CGI removes many of the premium cues normally applied to the Q7. Chrome trim on the grille, roof rails, and window surrounds is replaced by body-colored or blacked surfaces. Body-color bumpers, side sills, and wheel arches give way to durable black plastic, and smaller steel wheels take the place of alloys. Door handles and mirror caps are shown in matte black, and the image omits visible exhaust outlets.

Inside, kelsonik's vision trades some of the high-end digital finishing for tactile controls and familiar layouts. Door cards and seat surfaces are finished in heavy-duty cloth, and the wood trim is rendered in a classic finish rather than a contemporary gloss. The passenger display is removed, the instrument cluster emulates conventional dials while the central touchscreen remains, and the climate system gets a dedicated set of buttons and knobs. The render also shows the elimination of a start-stop button in favor of more conventional controls, a mechanical parking brake handle, and that six-speed manual gearbox.

Kelsonik has applied this downscale theme before, including work on a base BMW X5 G65 concept with steel wheels and simpler bumpers and a prior Mitsubishi Pajero render. The new Q7 images were posted by Nikita Chuicko, known as kelsonik on Instagram, on 26 September 2026.
